The DMA has the opportunity to take students on 3 different trips to Japan, New York, and San Francisco. There is one trip every year, which cycles through the various options. We are not only educating the students about how digital media looks abroad, but also about the culture of the places that we visit.
Japan is a world leader in architecture, digital design, animation and game design. Students will be able to enrich their understanding and experience with fashion, commercial design and animation as well as engaging in the multifaceted game industry of Japan. Students will be able to see the principles of design and animation applied in everyday Japan. Students will experience storytelling from a unique cultural experience as well as experience much of the food and culture of Japan. Upon return from Japan we hope students will be able to integrate the Japanese experience uniquely into their own designs and stories.
This is an exceptional digital media tour experience which offers students the opportunity to see all aspects of media in an educational environment and getting out of the classroom.
New York captures the creative spirit and energy of the East Coast. Students will be able to immerse themselves in creative communities such as Green Village, Soho, and Brooklyn. Some of the Worlds most famous and inspiring art will be viewed in the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) The Met and the International Museum of Photography. Day tours will take them to see iconic locations such as Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, Time Square.
San Francisco is a center for digital technology and design.
